When you are setting up a home theater or connecting new speakers to a power amplifier, the way you connect the speaker...
I was upgrading my AV system and wanted to add banana plugs. These are the easiest-to-use that I have seen - a single set screw, and will fit 12 gauge wire. Good value for the price.
THis product was exactly what I needed for an older stereo I have. Good value.
Bought these banana plugs to use on my new stereo receiver instead of trying to hook the speakers up with bare ended wires. They work great. My only complaint is the wire is held in place by a small screw, which is fine. But if you back the screw out too much and it falls you better watch where it went as it can be a pain to find being so small. I lost one this way. Otherwise they are nice and work great.
Inexpensive and good quality. I used these to connect 16AWG speaker wire to a little class D amp on my desk. Couldn't have been easier. Intuitive to install, so no directions needed. I needed a precision screwdriver to tighten down the set screw, but they're banana plugs, they're small, so I knew that going in. The color-coded covers that go over the plug eliminate the possibility of a short. Provides a firm connection both to the wire and the device it's plugged into. For the price, I can't imagine doing better.
These things are cheap so I didn't expect much except that they would work. Spoiler, they work. However I would NOT RECOMMEND these if you plan on using these on wires you are constantly pulling in and out as the "spring" metal on the banana plug is a very cheap metal and would eventually bend causing a loose fit from daily use.
These are favorite banana plugs I’ve used for speakers. With speakers, amps, and distribution patch panels all getting tighter with more and more channels having a smaller banana plug comes in handy. I also really like the set screw mounting as opposed to the screw on crimp cases more common on others. After installing a few I was not left with worn out and bare fingers. The plastic cover isn’t the most premium looking, if you want a small upgrade just use some red and black head shrink tubing instead. It won’t come lose, and it will hold the set screw on tight.
Not the best but the do the job.
Bought these to make some cables for a new speaker set. The plugs themselves only have 1 screw to hold the cables in place (most of the better quality ones have 2 for a better, more secure hold). However, given the price…you get what you pay for. For now these plugs get the job done. We will see how long they last, but if you don’t mess around with the cables too much, that should not be a problem, I hope. I person Ali added some shrink tubing to make the wires more stable and secure, which should help as well. All in all, I am happy with my purchase.
This is a very nice product and I will use them again. For one, the set screw used to capture the bare wire seats down far enough to solidly capture even small gauge wire. Some of the others I've used would not hold the wire tight. Build quality is very good and I have hopes they hold up well under use. The red and black plastic covering the shanks are a little fiddley to get off, but that's OK as you don't want them to come off easily.
These banana plugs work very well, but require some dexterity to tighten the small screws.
While the banana contact portion does turn in the section that contains the screw contact, it's a snug connection. I'm using them for DC and am happy with it, and audio signals being AC would not be of concern at all The insulative portion is elastomeric and fits snugly but is not too hard to remove and reinstall when attaching the wires. The screws can be turned in tightly without stripping. The indicated gold plating will minimize any issues with contact resistance, again not a significant problem with audio frequencies anyway due to capacitive coupling. In short, these are simple and inexpensive but perfectly functional where it counts and I know they'll work fine for my DC lab power supply applications and certainly for carrying sound signals.
These are great to plug into the rear panel on my Denon receiver. They are probably best for light duty use, they don’t feel like they would last long if removed/plugged in very many times. Be careful when you loosen the screw to insert the wire, it’s very tiny and easy too lose if you get it out past the end of the threads! Be sure to use a good quality mini-screwdriver on the screws too, if you want to torque the screws well after you insert your speaker wire in the connector.
Utilize tiny set screws to secure them to the wire, so obviously a little more tedious to attach than the crimp on kind. But that also means that they can be relocated/reused. The connection is very secure. Very good.
