Are the Ethernet Cable Extenders compatible with Cat 5e?
Thanks for your question! This cable extender is suitable for 24 AWG to 22 AWG Ethernet cables. But if your Cat5e cable is unshielded and thin, it is not recommended to use with this adapter. Because it may lead to looseness and weak links, which will affect performance.

Bonjour, J'ai du rallonger un câble Ethernet les deux coupleurs ont été nécessaire, tout fonctionne, un peu dur en ce qui me concerne pour le vissage avec le câble mais on y arrive !
I have an exterior ethernet cable that I use for surveillance cameras that are POE. Recently, a rodent chewed through one of my surveillance Ethernet CAT6 cables. I tried other forms of repair first that took a ton of time and were unsuccessful. As a last resort, II tried other forms of repair first that took a ton of time and were unsuccessful. As a last resort, I figured I would give this a shot, before taking the time to run a brand new cable. Although it was a little bit challenging to get the small wires into the right spot, I had success on my very first attempt -taking less than 10 minutes total. Since this is still an exterior area, I placed the device in heat shrink tubing (used a heat gun to shrink 3:1), used the type with built-in adhesive. It is now completely waterproof. Will be using again in the future if the mouse returns!
It is great for solid metal conductor cables, such as the ones you find in walls. But stranded conductors, you gotta fight with it.
I recently installed Starlink and had to route the cable they provided from my roof to the side of the house to bring the cable inside. I ran the cable wrong instead of running it from inside up to the antenna I ran it down from the antenna to an outside wall where I would drill a hole and run it into the family room where my Starlink router was located. The end of the Starlink cable that attaches to the router is shaped like an L so once I drilled the hole there was no way i was getting that connector through the hole. Starlink states that you cannot cut the cable and if you do you will have to purchase a new cable. I decided I will cut the cable and use this RJ45 shielded coupler to splice the cable together. If it did not work I would need to buy another cable anyways. Much to my surprise this RJ45 connector worked fabulously, just follow the instructions to splice the cable. One note is that this RJ45 coupler is not weather proof, interior use only unless you mount it in some type of weatherproof enclosure. Been 2 months since I hooked it up and my signal is great, have not had any issues with degrading signal. So if you have a damaged or cut cable this will be an easy fix to cut out the bad portion and resplice the cable at a very low cost!
