Multi-Function Pass Through RJ45 Crimper VCELINK

I waited to review to make sure these weren’t two week junk. I’m a low voltage tech and my company does a LOT of Crestron automation systems. I use these daily and I’m impressed. They’re holding up and crimping just as well as my Kleins if not better!

I initially bought these because I saw they had a strain relief crimping section for crimping strain relief tabs on cat6a/cat7 cables. The RJ45 crimping part works great for crimping through-hole cat6a and cat7 cable connectors. It usually trims the ends of the through-hole jacks cleanly in one or 2 passes, tops. The strain relief crimping section however, never seems to line up correctly (at least for fatter cat6a & cat7 cables). With cat6a+, you end up having to "pre-crimp" the strain relief tabs around the cable, then clock the cable in the crimper in such a way that it is offset in the die in which it was designed to sit when crimping. If you just let the connector sit in the strain relief crimping die the way it was intended to be used, and squeeze, it smashes the tabs flat on the side of the cable, and not around the cable the way they were intended to be crimped. That's why I gave 4 starts instead of 5. They do work well once you get the hang of how you have to hold them for crimping big cable strain reliefs, and that is my only gripe about them.

I was surprised to find it works well on not just pass through connectors but on conventional closed end connectors for CAT6, CAT5E. I had to terminate an outdoor Access Point run at a hospital. It uses a shielded CAT6 with UV resistant cover, which is always a bear to terminate with a pass-through Rj45 supplied by the cable supplier. The tool worked great. The vendor supplied silicone rubber clear gue to place at the end of connector before sliding on boot to seal the connection required at each end to prevent water vapor from entering the cable run. I had to make a patch cable inside with conventional cable, I found the tool can terminate non-pass-through connectors easily. I probably use 100 connectors a month. I always use CAT6 for 10G on runs less than 40 feet except where bundle with 50 or more. 10G always use CAT7 shielded on >100 foot runs, and on any bundle run. I also charge 5 times cost for termination because it takes a long time to terminate CAT7 compared to CAT5E. Surprised the inexpensive tool works well in all situations.

Excellent tool, easy to handle, great product, only i need extra blades for continue the job, the tool continue work properly after a complete network installation, but show a little damage in the blade for cutting cat6a cable ends

The VCELINK RJ45 Crimping Tool Pass Through works well. I don't really have any issues with the tool as it does offer me what I hoped it would. You can't go wrong.

Very convenient to use for pull-through RJ45 plugs. Being able to easily cut the protruding excess wires flush with a simple squeeze is something you will appreciate if you’ve ever had to do this with a razor. Also, adjustable for different-sized CAT cables and connectors. I used it successfully on CAT-7.

The only thing it's missing is a sheathing stripper/cutter. It has a grounding crimper in it's place. Not enough to knock a star off. It also doesn't ratchet, though that's personal taste instead of a hard requirement. Pretty good tech for the price.

needing a second tool I decided to purchase VCELINK since I do a lot of shielded cabling. This was very useful and small in size. Of the two that I own my apprentice preferred the VCELINK.

Worked great for crimping ends on CAT7 cables that I ran for my camera system. Took a bit to figure out how to use it, but that was due to my own ignorance. After the first few, you get the hang of it. Only did about 10 ends, but no issues so far.

Tested it and it works really well. I ll do more tests. One recommendation is if they can add blades for cutting and stripping the wire so we dont need to use different tools.

I recently purchased another brand of popular crimping tools here on Amazon because it was available to me sooner. However, I quickly discovered, after wasting dozens of Cat 7 pass-through connectors, that it was not adequately crimping the lines into their respective pins. I purchased this one and really wished that I had ben more patient in the first place. It has performed flawlessly in replacing all of the dud connections performed by the other crimping tool. My only wish is that it had a wire stripper integrated into it's design.

For the VCELink Crimping Tool itself, after the first use (and having learned to ensure the plug is fully and "firmly" inserted into the crimp plug-hole to achieve good cutting every time) ... the tool is excellent. The only let down was the 'Pass Through connector plugs' in which I am experiencing 60/40 good vs not-so-good with the pass-through holes on 60% of the plugs being "V.G." (with the wires going through first time), but with 40% of the plugs the pass-through holes seem to be very tight and at times even difficult to get through. Before my first use of a "Pass Through" crimping tool I have not ever used the small plastic guide plug, but with this (given the tightness of the Pass-through holes) it seems to be essential. But overall = Very Good (with the crimping tool itself being excellent).

I spent over $100 buying the platinum brand and those only work with their connectors. This tool is UNIVERSAL ! I tried many other connectors and still crimps every time !

I've made about 10 cables with it so far and the only thing I've noticed is the last wire doesn't always get cut on the first try, however, it's not bad as it falls off after easily rubbing your finger over it. I've used cheaper ones in the past and this feels much better and seems to be of good quality.
